Student Scholarship

Since 1984, Montana AWRA has convened water resource professionals to advance water resource research, planning, management, and education. Inherent to this mission is professional development for students, and since 1995, Montana AWRA has committed to this by providing cash awards for top student presenters.

This year, up to five student travel scholarships will be awarded. Montana AWRA recognizes that professional development begins before an award-winning presentation, and that engagement with minority populations is critical for the objective of promoting social and economic advances of water resources.

Priority will be given first to students that are enrolled in a tribal college, and/or are members of a tribal nation or other minority group; second to students earlier in their academic career; and third to students with a clearly defined purpose for attending the annual conference. Applicants must be currently enrolled students at any level (undergraduate, master's, or PhD). Submit your completed application using the form below by Friday, September 26, 2025. Recipients will be notified by Wednesday, October 1st, 2025.
